Introduction
Breast augmentation surgery, also called augmentation mammaplasty,
consists of placing silicone or saline implants with the objective of
increasing the size, improving the shape or correcting asymmetries in the breast.
Procedure
Implants can be placed through different incisions (in the inframammary fold, areola, axilla or, in some cases, belly button), and their position can be
under the pectoral muscle or the breast tissue.
The choice of the type of implant,
the technique and the location is defined in a personalized way according to the characteristics
and objectives of each patient.
Recovery
Recovery usually takes 10 to 14 days, during which the use
of a post-surgical bra is essential to favor adequate healing and
optimal results.
