    Athletic Liposculpture

Athletic liposculpture, known by various names such as high-definition lipo, 4D lipo, 3D lipo and abdominal etching, aims to define the abdominal muscles. It uses liposuction to achieve body contouring. Several laser technologies have emerged that allow the dissolution of small fat deposits without suction, since the body naturally reabsorbs them. This method, known as laser lipolysis, is frequently used for cellulite removal.

    Mastopexy without implants:
Candidates must be at least 18 years old. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not undergo liposuction. This surgery is contraindicated for patients with immunosuppression, whether due to diseases or medications. The ideal candidates are healthy people with fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise, considered to be active people. Those who use anticoagulants such as aspirin, ibuprofen or any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug must discontinue their use before and after surgery. Patients with good skin elasticity obtain the best aesthetic results, making older patients less ideal compared to younger ones.

What is the best option for you?
The main advantage is the elimination of fat in areas difficult to attack with diet and exercise. Health benefits include a reduction in the risk of heart problems, cholesterol, cancer or diabetes. The recovery period is relatively short, with a week before returning to activities, although a rest of 15 days is recommended.

    Recovery
The results of liposuction must be realistic, since it does not help to lose considerable weight or eliminate stretch marks or cellulite. It only removes small concentrations of localized fat, generally up to 4.5 kg (10 pounds) of fat in the treated area. Drastic changes in appearance should not be expected. Swelling can persist for weeks or months, which may obscure the results of the surgery. The skin in the treated area may appear loose, since it takes time to adapt to the new figure. The final results are seen after six months.

    Procedure
As with any plastic surgery, it is crucial to perform a previous medical examination to detect any contraindication. The type of anesthesia is determined by the team based on the area and the volume of fat to be eliminated. If the affected region is small, regional anesthesia may be used, but it is always a decision of the surgeon and the anesthesiologist.

    Post-operative Care:
The patient must be accompanied after the procedure, as they will experience discomfort in the first few days. Swelling is notable at first, and the use of a post-surgical garment is recommended to reduce swelling, along with medications for pain and infection prevention. Most of the swelling decreases in the first weeks, but it can last up to three months to see the final results. Physical activity must be limited initially, avoiding intense exercises during the first three weeks. Generally, it takes about a month to return to normal physical activities. Post-operative swelling is expected, and follow-up visits are crucial to monitor any change. The use of aspirin should be avoided after surgery, and only prescribed medications should be taken. Lymphatic drainage can be initiated after surgery as indicated.
