Introduction

Bichectomy, or extraction of Bichat's fat pockets, is a surgical procedure that consists of removing the fat pads located in the cheeks. These fatty deposits do not fulfill a specific function and their extraction allows the facial contour to be refined and stylized, achieving a more defined and harmonious look.

This treatment is especially indicated for people with a rounded or poorly defined face, regardless of gender, who wish to highlight their features. It is performed on an outpatient basis, under local anesthesia, and does not require hospitalization.

Although it is minor surgery, it must be carried out in specialized centers and by certified plastic surgeons to guarantee safety and optimal results. Bichectomy can also be combined with other facial or body procedures as part of a comprehensive aesthetic harmonization plan.
