Arm surgery (brachioplasty)
Introduction
Brachioplasty is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the
arms by eliminating excess skin and fat localized between the armpit and the
elbow, achieving a firmer and more toned contour.
Types of brachioplasty:
- Simple Brachioplasty: Indicated for young patients with minimal laxity in the inner arm. It is performed under local anesthesia and leaves discreet, almost imperceptible scars.
- Axillary and Extended Thoracic Brachioplasty: Recommended for patients with greater sagging, including the so-called "pendular arms", extending towards the thoracic and submammary areas. This procedure involves a T-shaped incision with scars located in less visible areas.
Recovery
The estimated recovery time is 14 to 21 days, during which the scars
are located on the inner arm and tend to be barely visible over time.
