    Breast Augmentation Surgery

    Introduction
Breast augmentation or augmentation mammoplasty with implants involves placing a silicone or saline implant behind the breast tissue or under the pectoralis major muscle to increase size, correct shape, or address breast asymmetry that a patient may have.

    Procedure
Breast implants can be placed through incisions at the inframammary fold, around the areola, through the armpit, or even the navel. Similarly, implants can be positioned either under the pectoralis major muscle or beneath the mammary gland. The choice of incision, implant type, and placement is personalized depending on each patient’s physical characteristics.

    Recovery
The recovery period is typically 10-14 days. The use of a post-surgical bra is essential.
